Responsible for the long- and short-term goals of the design department; directing the production of design process through the supervision of assigned staff; co-ordinating scheduling needs between editorial, marketing and production/design departments; resolving conflicts and providing guidance on priorities. Ongoing evaluation of new technologies; training of staff in new technologies; training of staff in use of new technologies. Negotiation with authors and suppliers as needed. Ideally they would have at least six years’ experience from a number of agencies/design companies.
